AEW COLLISION RESULTS FOR JUNE 15

We open with Christian Cage talking about AEW being where the best wrestle and this is his Collision because it’s Father’s Day tomorrow. He promises it’s going to be very special.

Blackpool Combat Club vs. TMDK & Lio Rush & Rocky Romero: The babyfaces had control for much of the early portion of the match, until things broke down and everyone just started brawling all around the ring. That’s when the heels finally got some offense going. It turned into a match where everyone got their stuff in, with Castagnoli in particular having a big run late. They did the spot where everyone gets their time in the ring and cycled out, with all the big spots thrown in there. It ended with Lio Rush being tossed to Moxley for the Death Rider and the pin. BCC def. TMDK & Rush & Romero via pinfall

Moxley grabbed a mic after a brief celebration. The fans chanted his name. He called Naito a survivor but Forbidden Door is the final conflict and he’s not coming to beat him or defend the IWGP championship, he’s coming to put an end to Naito once and for all. He says he’s going to finish his career.

No one else talked, with Castagnoli kicking the mic Mox dropped right out of the ring.

Tony Schiavone in the ring and he welcomes in The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass. No rap from Max Caster on the way in.

Instead, they take the mic from Tony. Caster acknowledges that usually they do the rap with some punchlines but today the EVPs issued a $5,000 fine for “disparaging company executives.” They showed the tweet from Anthony Bowens earlier.

Caster said the Bucks are out of touch with the fans. They don’t want a couple suits acting like snitches, they want Caster on the mic roasting people, Bowens and Daddy Ass hitting the scissor, and The Acclaimed as champions.

Bowens gets the mic to say the Bucks shouldn’t focus their pettiness on raps and tweets but the fact that soon they’ll be face-to-face with The Acclaimed for the first time in four years. And they aren’t the same team they were in 2020, they have grown into a team with many accolades, as many as the Bucks, even.

Bowens runs down the list of accomplishments, including being the winningest tag team in the history of this company. He tells them to do their worst because all they care about is doing anything it takes to get the titles back and their company back.

Everyone loves The Acclaimed.

Caster takes the mic again and says he’s about to kick it old school.

Before he can go into it, he’s interrupted by Brandon Cutler, who says this 1 year anniversary should be a night of praise for the EVPs, who have carried the show on their backs since day one. So if The Acclaimed want fined, then okay, they’re fined again. Last time it was $5K, this time it’s $10K, and next time it will be $15K.

Christopher Daniels walks out to say Tony Khan has reversed the fines and we don’t need to hear any more from Cutler. This leads to Cutler getting in his face and Daniels smacking him around a bit before leading him to the ring where The Acclaimed hit the Scissor Me Timber to a big pop.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Thunder Rosa: Deonna attacked before the bell even rang. It is a No DQ match. They battled hard, breaking out all the gimmicks, from a chair to a table to a steel chain to a garbage can and everything in between. Purrazzo locked in a submission at one point and Rosa tried getting to the ropes for a break. In a No DQ match. Purrazzo went out and low blowed a cameraman ringside. She blasted Rosa with his camera, and then pulled her arms back through the ropes. The ref saw Rosa was out and called it. Purrazzo def. Rosa via submission

Dalton Castle vs. Hechicero: Gates of Agony was out with Hechicero. They got physical right away and didn’t let up on the physicality as they went along. They went back-and-forth a bit but Hechicero was always out ahead and he used a twisting leg drop to keep Castle down for the three count. Hechicero def. Castle via pinfall

After the match, he picked Castle up and attacked him again. The Gates of Agony joined in to get a few shots in. The Outrunners ran down to the ring to help Dalton out and they got clotheslined right back out. The beating was going to continue but Daniel Garcia and Matt Menard ran to the ring with chairs to run them off.

It’s time for Christian Cage’s segment.

They booed Shayna Wayne announcing him and she acted really offended by this. She called Cage the greatest father of all time.

He came out and sat in the chair they had set up in the ring for him. He opened saying he was upset to be in the Rust Belt for the biggest holiday of the year, but here he was. He would be remiss if he didn’t acknowledge today as the anniversary of his son Nick Wayne’s biological father’s untimely passing. As a child, that can effect you in many ways. But in a strange way, his father dying was the best thing that ever happened to him because it led him to Cage.

“I love you, son.”

He asks about the black draping in the ring and wonders if it’s a gift for him. Wayne hands him a Happy Father’s Day card. It says he can only dream of having half of Christian’s talent and he’ll keep striving for it. With love, of course.

Cage then opens his gift, which is a painting of him. Killswitch apparently did it himself. Cage kind of downplays it, calling it “okay” before going back to gushing about the card Nick got him, giving him a big hug.

Cage wonders why Killswitch can’t be more like Nick. He starts to walk off but Christian stops him and tells him he has something important to say and Killswitch is not going to want to miss this.

He says he came up short at Double or Nothing in his quest to win the world heavyweight championship but what we don’t realize is there is alternate footage that clearly shows his shoulder is up. The EVPs wanted to do the right thing and show the footage but he asked them not to because his family doesn’t make excuses, they roll their sleeves up and get right back to work. The path to getting back to the world title starts with winning the trios championship.

He calls it a gift to Wayne and Killswitch. Again, the fans chant and call him Luchasaurus. Christian again tells the fans to shut their mouths.

He pushes forward to say Tony Khan’s father lent him millions to start his own wrestling company just to see him smile. But as of now, Cage is declaring AEW as his company. He’s the most influential star in the sport and he won’t stop until he goes down as the greatest wrestler in history.

“Tony, I am your father now.”

He calls their group the faces of TNT now and forever.

Dante Martin vs. Lee Moriarty: Pretty much exactly the match you would expect to get from these two. Some creative offense on both sides. In the end, Martin, selling an arm issue, went up top to hit a Frog Splash to score the pinfall and the victory, earning him entry into the TNT Championship Ladder Match at Forbidden Door. Martin def. Moriarty via pinfall

After, Shane Taylor Promotions showed up to put the boots to Martin while he celebrated. Action Andretti and Darius Martin out to help but they get put down too. While STP stand tall, Lio Rush comes down. He actually gets the better of the group all by himself. Officials separate the two sides after this.

There’s a moment where Top Flight and Rush seem tentative of each other but they nod and all move on.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Anthony Henry: Roderick Strong was out for commentary. He claimed he really cares about O’Reilly. Schiavone tried to put Henry over as a dangerous man but this match was really all about getting O’Reilly a victory and making sure he looked impressive doing it. They accomplished that just fine, with O’Reilly getting the suplex and into the cross armbreaker for the finish. O’Reilly def. Henry via submission

Strong said again that O’Reilly is missing something or someone and Nigel said Strong may be that missing piece.

Bang Bang Gang vs. House of Black: This match was given the main event spot. They got 20 minutes to work with, and it was slow rolling for a lot of it. They had to get through multiple commercial breaks. It got really good when they heated up near the finish, with Malakai Black taking on the entire crew all by himself at one point thanks to Matthews suffering an injury and being taken to the back. The Bang Bang Gang looked like they had the match won but PAC showed up to distract them, giving Black the opening he needed to hit his finish to end it. House of Black def. Bang Bang Gang via pinfall

The show ended with Cage congratulating the House of Black on becoming top contenders to the trios championships but saying the only problem is they aren’t a trio anymore. The camera panned down to show Buddy Matthews laid out on top of a chair. The House of Black ran to the back to check in on him.

End.
